What is a near miss?<\/h2>\n

A near miss is where a dangerous event occurs and though no worker was injured and no property was damaged, the conditions were such that either could have happened. Reporting requirements for near misses vary by jurisdiction and industry, but it is a common practice for workplaces to require employees to report near misses internally so they can be investigated and avoided in the future.<\/p>\n
