Diversity, including gender diversity, contributes to improved decision-making and reduces conflicts among groups. Fostering diverse viewpoints and strengthening workplace equality improves collaboration and integrates different perspectives and problem-solving approaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As&nbsp;<strong>expectations around social responsibility become more widespread<\/strong>, organizations that advocate for gender equality and women\u2019s rights, that provide a safe, supportive work environment for women, and that make efforts to improve diversity are recognized for their efforts with a better company image and customer loyalty among those who share their values and beliefs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How can you improve toxic workplace culture and help create a<br>supportive work environment for women?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/staging-citation-canada.hrdownloads.com\/hr-software\/hris\/\">Employee management<\/a> plays a role in\u00a0<strong>improving equality and diversity<\/strong>\u00a0at all levels of the organization, and while more companies see the value of gender diversity and recognize the barriers women face in the workplace, women are still underrepresented in the workforce, and they continue to face challenges related to gender imbalances at work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A&nbsp;Diversity in the Workplace Policy provides guidelines to prevent discrimination in employment practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Besides the issues we typically hear about, like pay inequality, a lack of diversity affects how women experience their workplace, particularly its culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.hrdownloads.com\/hs-fs\/hubfs\/Doucment%20-%20Diversity%20in%20the%20Workplace%20Policy.png?width=350&amp;name=Doucment%20-%20Diversity%20in%20the%20Workplace%20Policy.png\" alt=\"Doucment - Diversity in the Workplace Policy\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A toxic culture creates a hostile working environment<br>where women are likely to encounter:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Gender based biases, discrimination, and stereotypes;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Harassment, sexism, and sexual harassment;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gender-based microaggressions, such as being questioned on competence or seniority or assigned specific duties because of gender;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Being dismissed, ignored, undermined, or interrupted by men;
